Lambs are available by the half and whole animal. A half lamb is $7.50/lb based on the hanging weight and a whole lamb is $7/lb based on the hanging weight. The hanging weight for whole lambs typically range from 30 to 45 lbs – half a lamb from 15 to 23 lbs. Sometimes they are larger – we had one that topped out at 50 lbs hanging weight. There will also be a processing fee paid to the processor that is usually about $75/half depending on the size of the lamb.

We feed wholesome diets that NEVER contain animal by-products, animal fats, animal protein, manure, urea, artificial preservatives, artificial flavors, artificial colors, ammonium chloride, antibiotics, etc.

After they are processed, you can pick the meat up from Flip Flop Ranch, the butcher in Barstow or when we make a delivery to VVC.

We typically have purebred Navajo-Churro lamb or Gulf Coast lamb available year round.  These breeds are just amazing tasting and a lot of people think they’re better than commercial lamb-so much better tasting, in fact, that they are both listed on the Slow Food’s Ark of Taste.  The Ark of Taste is a list of all the fantastic tasting heritage foods that are out there.

Navajo Sheep

The Navajo-Churro sheep boasts many valuable traits. The meat is lean with a distinctive, sweet flavor. In addition to quality meat production, these sheep provide abundant milk and have a highly desirable dual fiber fleece. The sheep is hardy, living lightly on the land and requiring less water and forage than other sheep. The sheep is long legged with a narrow body and fine bones. The coat is prized by weavers for its variant array of natural colors.
