Due to its geographical location, The Girl’s Farm, recreational possibilities abound. Clients are exposed to a combination of rural and urban opportunities, both on and off site. While recreation is certainly not the focus of The Girl’s Farm, it is important for our young women to learn to balance hard work and fun. We expect them to make a large effort both physically as well as emotionally and recreation is a requirement for both a healthy body and mind.
Young adults may hike, and bike and ride horses on our network of trails and off road areas for fun and exercise.
A game room with pool, air hockey and foozeball provides entertainment.
However, mostly we try to provide more organized, community entertainment. Sitting around the dinner table chatting, a game of catch, a movie night and so on. The same activities that a family would do.
In the winter months, girls may explore the local mountains and try skiing or snow boarding.
Karate classes are available locally.
The local area offers miles of mountain biking and dirt biking trails ranging in level from beginner to advanced.
Lucerne Valley, the other high desert towns and nearby Los Angeles and San Diego offers chances for dining out, movies, theater, concerts, poetry readings, museum visits and a host of other activities.
