Yes we do. Just like a hotel. However, if you would like to bring your own you are more than welcome to. When I travel, I always like bringing my own pillow and an extra blanket in case I get cold.

You do generally share the house with others unless you are lucky enough to book on a date when no one else does.  There are up to 4 families at a time with a bathroom shared between two rooms.  The house is quite spacious with a big living room, a dining room and kitchen.  The kitchen is a full kitchen which you can cook in and store food.  It has dishes available, although if there is any specialty dish you need, feel free to bring whatever supplies you would like.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”What are the weekend rates?”]

Weekend rates are the same as weekday.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”What do we need to bring with us?  Water, food, etc? “]

You are welcome to bring food, although there are restaurants nearby as well as a really good market.  There is a fridge for you to store food in and you are also welcome to bring a cooler.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”What time can we arrive?”]

Checkin is anytime after 4pm and checkout is by 11am.  You do not need to bring bedding or towels although you are welcome to.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Is Flip Flop Ranch a resort?”]

FFR is a real farm (not a resort) so prepare to enjoy hands on experiences with animals and get dirty.  We try to maintain a laid back atmosphere and keep everything relaxed, just like real farm life.  We do have a general schedule we try to stick to during the day, but the needs of the ranch always take precedence and, as unique things happen, it adds to the authenticity of being on a real farm.  For example, an injured animal may need to be cared for or a baby is born and one activity gets swapped out for another.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”So is Flip Flop Ranch a glamorous, shiny fake farm?”]

No it isn’t.  FFR is, as mentioned before, a real farm.  Real farms have wear and tear, things break, weeds grow, animals go to the bathroom, things get run down and need to be upgraded and be replaced.  When we purchased the ranch over a decade ago, it was an absolute mess with piles of trash, pipes broken, wiring hanging out everywhere, everything needed to be painted and replaced.  We’re very proud of how nice the ranch is at this point, but we don’t pretend that it is a glamorous resort.  It is a real farm and real farms are not fancy.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”What clothes should we bring?”]

We suggest clothes that you don’t mind getting messy in and prepare for both warm and cool weather (it can be very variable).

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Do you have wi-fi?”]

We don’t offer wi-fi and try to discourage people from using electronic devices while they’re here, but you are of course welcome to use your own hotspot and we won’t make you muck the pig pen if we catch you texting lol!

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Are activities included?”]

You can join in with animal feeding and goat milking twice per day.  You can also purchase an activities upgrade that includes baby animal time, carding and spinning wool, mozzarella cheese making or other activities!

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Are we kept very busy with the activities upgrade?”]

We make sure we offer downtime for our guests.  We used to schedule every minute of the day, as that’s what guests said they wanted, but we noticed very quickly that guests get tired and grumpy after a long day of farming!  So we do have breaks in between activities as well as a nap break after lunch.  We encourage you to let your kids have free play outside, even if they complain about being bored.  You’d be amazed at how quickly kids overcome “boredom” and learn to use their imagination in nature.  However, if you’re worried, we have a box of toys and books and board games and you are also welcome to bring your own.  We also encourage guests to head out into the desert for nature hikes or to the local national parks.
